Caravantage tracking - how we do it

HOW IT WORKS

The Caravantage GPS tracking device is configured at the factory to wake up at preset intervals and either send a position back to the Caravantage servers or check its position against its authorised position. After completing its GPS fixes and sending any necasacery data it will enter a sleep mode to conserve battery power.

How small is the Caravantage tracker?
The tracking device is a small sealed waterproof tracking device that is just 13cm x 13cm x 5 cm

Can I fit the device myself? Yes, the process is very simple and the unit comes preconfigured and ready to track. Just follow the simple instructions and call Caravantage or logon to your account to see the position of your caravan on a map. If you are getting an insurance discount you will need to have the tracker installed by one of our qualified engineers.

How long does it take to fit? Fitting should take around 15 minutes to 1 hour

Do I need to wire anything in? Absolutelty not, because its battery powered, fitting is as easy as hiding something the size of a paperback book in a suitable position in your caravan

Can I move the device between more than one caravan? Absolutely, we allow you share the device or move it between caravans but we recomend that you always have it fitted. If you have used your Caravantage tracker to claim insurance discounts and your caravan is stolen your insurance will be invalidated.

What happens when the batteries are flat? We will automatically detect when the battteries start to drain and notify you. We ask you to return the unit to us, and for a small cost we will refurbish the unit, install new batteries and return the unit to you ready for many more years protection.

Can I replace the batteries my self? No, the battery packs we use are specially made for caravantage and are not available to the general public

How do I know when my caravan has been stolen? There are a number of ways that we can detect that your caravan is, or about to be stolen. Depending on your service plan you will receive an email, SMS or phone call to your preferred contact number. The tracker may then switched into "chase" mode when the tracking device will send out positions every 5 minutes to help with the recovery of your caravan.
